Christian Service Program
The goal of the Christian Service program is to enable our scholars to put into practice the values reflected in the Philosophy and Mission statement of Cardinal Ritter. As Christians following in the steps of Jesus, we are called to a life of service to those most in need. With this in mind and challenging the students to practice what is taught in many classes, especially Theology, the following commitment from our students is required for graduation from Cardinal Ritter.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY.
Each semester of each year the students are required to submit a specified number of hours they have served. There is a verification form which students should use in reporting their service. All information must be able to be verified by appropriate officials in order for the hours to be credited to the student’s record.
GRADING: Service Hours will be listed as an additional course on each student’s report card. A Pass/Fail grade will be applied at the end of the second and fourth quarters. Completion of the Christian Service program is a requirement for graduation from Cardinal Ritter. Scholars who do not meet the semester hour requirement must take Christian Service Reco
For accurate recording, Service Hours verification sheets should be completed and submitted by the following dates:

| Sophomore | 12 hours due on or before Dec. 10 | 12 hours due on or before Apr. 25 |
| Junior | 14 hours due on or before Dec. 7 | 14 hours due on or before Apr. 20 |
| Senior | 16 hours due on or before Dec. 1 | DUE BEFORE SENIOR WEEK |
A total of 104 hours are required for graduation if the student has attended Ritter for the full four years. Hours are prorated for students who transfer, please see chart below:
The number of Christian Service Hours needed are prorated if you transferred into Cardinal Ritter College Prep. Please see the requirements below:
Transferred in as a Second Semester Freshman: 91hours required
Transferred in as a First Semester Sophomore: 78 hours required
Transferred in as a Second Semester Sophomore: 65 hours required
Transferred in as a First Semester Junior: 52 hours required
Transferred in as a Second Semester Junior: 39 hours required
Transferred in as a First Semester Senior: 26 hours required
Transferred in as a Second Semester Senior: 13 hours required
